Embrace Your Destiny: Try Acupuncture

Me and Sarah at the Asheville clinic entry
I decided on a whim to get a facial in late August 2016 from Sarah Fields. Sarah is lovable and was getting established as an acupuncturist in Brevard, NC. I had no notion of what to expect, but thought, "what could it hurt".  Let me tell you, it was amazing. What I didn't expect was the impact it had on my entire body. She did a series of treatments to improve the skin and appearance of my face. It also gave my walking a boost after about a week.

Sarah's business has matured since I first began my treatments at her home in Brevard. Now, she has two clinics, one in Brevard and one in Asheville. Her business is called Natural Pathways and she has a whole range of maladies she treats.

It was good for me to get out of my comfort zone and try something new and crazy. I had read that acupuncture is an alternative therapy for multiple sclerosis. It's been around for 2500 years. It is Chinese medicine based on nature and the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. I had very limited knowledge of acupuncture until I met Sarah who is also one of my yoga teachers.

It seemed like every time I went for an acupuncture treatment, Sarah would do something different. Sometimes she started with a detoxing foot bath. Other times she started me on the meghan bed which is heated with crystals and has a roller underneath that massages every bone in the spine and skeletal system. Always, she applied needles of varying length. After we finished the five or six treatments, I was sold on using this as a boost for my entire electrical system. In the meantime, I saw my neurologist and told him about what I was doing. He was all in favor of continuing. Since the initial kick start, I have been seeing Sarah every three or four weeks.

Sarah knows me well. To determine what she will do during my treatment, if I don't have any special needs, she takes my pulses.   We also discuss any issues I may be having with digestion, elimination, sleeping, aches and pains and general well being. She proceeds from there.
