Anticipating the Facial Rejuvenation Treatment |
Have you tried acupuncture? I’ve written about it before because I’ve had good results. It’s not scary. I admit to being concerned about the needles that first time, but they don’t hurt. In fact after the initial prick, it's nothing. It’s not at all like taking a shot.
Acupuncture works for me, but I can’t say specifically why. I can tell when I need another treatment. I can also state several specific improvements in daily life because of it. Does that make sense?

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicine. The acupuncturist places needles on specific pressure points of the body. Sometimes I'm face up, and sometimes face down. The face and ears have points that affect areas all over the body.
My awareness of Acupuncture started with Acupressure. It was a trendy topic in magazines and journals in the 1970's. The principle was to apply pressure with a thumb or finger to specific points on the hands or feet to relieve pain. I was having lots of headaches then and didn’t want to take strong medicine. (This was before diagnosis of MS.) I had enough success on myself to seriously consider trying acupuncture.
Fast forward to 2016 when I met Sarah Fields. She was one of my hot yoga teachers. She had just graduated Acupuncture school and was starting her practice.
After class one day, I asked her if Acupuncture could help me. She assured me it could and suggested I try a Facial Rejuvenation treatment to learn more. I took the bait. Of course, vanity called the play but curiosity sealed the deal.
Face down for suction cups
I left with a good feeling, looking forward to the next time. I went weekly for ten sessions. I was a believer. After eight years, I continue to notice improvements in walking and how I feel overall.
When I do have a problem, I mention it to Sarah and she fixes it. Recently I had a nerve in my right leg that acted up when I walked. Whatever she did, worked. That's no longer a problem.
I used to have lots of problems with digestion, elimination, kidney and bladder functioning, and sleep. Those issues are gone. I feel great and headaches are a thing of the past. The entire body scored a huge win.
After falling several times last year, I started going twice a month again. Maybe acupuncture reboots the central nervous system. Maybe it exerts a support role to improve the combined benefits of hot yoga, massage, chiropractic, and strength training that stimulate and soothe the nervous system.
Whatever, I’m very pleased with my walking and with how I feel overall. Acupuncture definitely helps me keep moving.
