Embrace The Journey: Don't Get Stuck

First night out

I have posted several blogs about our dilemma and what proved to be a delightful “land cruise” on the Amalfi Coast. The experience was both memorable and stressful.

We started in Civitaveccia, the port city, several days. We got lodging which was a valuable commodity at that time. We think we hit the beginning of a holiday in Italy. Securing lodging on a day to day basis was stressful. We tried to make the most of the nights we had in any one place.

We stayed in Civitaveccia three nights. The town, hotel and people were delightful.

Ferry ride to Amalfi

We rented a car and drove to Maiori, a small town on the Amalfi coast. We stayed there three nights, still testing Positive. From there, we headed north to Rome. We stayed at the airport outside Rome for the remainder of our Positive testing.

The Hop-On Bus saved the day in Rome

We learned to do many things “on our own”. We much prefer everything being handled by our travel agent, but that wasn’t possible. We had adventures and mis-adventures riding the train, using Uber, and learning everything there is to know about the Rome airport.

The posts for our day trips to Rome and traipsing around the airport finding and getting tested are still to be finished.

Ironically, just two weeks after we got home, travel restrictions were lifted and back to normal.  We met many people who were also trapped in Italy, looking for lodging and trying to test Negative.
